Medical Textbooks

Textbooks are evolving to meet physician needs in this “information age”. The Internet allows publishers to store information at a central location and update it frequently.

Medical Journals

Journals provide access to the “latest” medical opinions. Many journals make their table of contents available on an Internet website. Some will send you the table of contents by electronic mail. The few websites provide abstracts or occasionally the full text of an article. Some newer journals are published exclusively on the Internet.

Searching the Internet

The Internet is revolutionizing communication. Powerful “search engine” programs allow you to quickly search for useful medical information. Unfortunately, the good information is mixed with a large amount of trivial and erroneous information.
