Harrison’s Principles of Internal Medicine and Tintinalli’s Emergency Medicine Study Guide are available from the "Access Medicine" website. You can return to the home page at any time by using the “Home” tab in the main menu.

Help
A Help link is available in the right upper corner of the home page

Search
The Access Medicine search engine provides basic and advanced search capability.  A unique feature is “auto suggest”, which suggests additional topics relevant to the current search terms.

Updates
The Updates section displays recent important updates to the resources.  Options are available to display updates by resource or time period.  This feature is worth visiting frequently to see if there is new information relevant to your practice

Drugs
The Drugs tab links to the US-based Gold Standard drug database, which recognizes some unique Canadian brand names.  For Canadian drug information, visit the e-Therapeutics section of the Virtual Library.

Images
The Images tab allows users to search for images within resources, including the “Atlas of Emergency Medicine”.  Images can be downloaded by right-clicking on the image, then selecting “Save Picture As”.

Differential Diagnosis (DDx)
The DDx tab links to the Diagnosaurus database for differential information by symptom, disease, or organ system.  A free version of this program is available for personal digital assistants or smart phones.

Guidelines
The Guidelines tab links to “Current Practice Guidelines in Primary Care” which provides US-based guidelines for disease screening, diagnosis and management.  For Canadian guidelines, visit the Canadian Medical Association website

Patient Education
The “Patient Ed” tab links to patient-oriented handouts from the “Postgraduate Medicine” journal.  Users can customize these handouts to fit their own practice.

News
The News tab provides a link to the US-based “Center for the Advancement of Health”.

My Access Medicine
The “My Access Medicine” tab allows users to create a personal profile so that they can repeat recent searches, create bookmarks to favorite chapters and customize patient handouts.  It includes Lange Self-Assessment tool which displays multiple-choice questions that may be useful for physicians preparing for the LMCC-II or CFPC Certification examinations.
