Windows 2000

  • Used in network systems
  • May not be as suitable for individual computers or home use
  • Clarify the different between Service Packs 1 and 2 (SP1 & SP2)

Windows XP Professional

  • The latest operating system for PC-type computers
  • Feature: has a reputation for being more stable than previous versions
  • Feature: basic voice recognition software
  • Feature: can host an Internet website

Windows XP Home

  • Installed on computers intended for the home market
  • Does not have all the features of the Professional version
  • Cannot host an Internet website

Macintosh Operating System

  • Used on Apple Macintosh computers
  • Some users prefer it to Windows

  • Favorite of some "techies", but is probably not for the average user
