Basic word-processing skills needed to use the Internet This page is still under construction.
Typing
Highlight
- Hold down the left mouse button and drag mouse pointer across desired text
Copy
- Hold down the Control key
- Press the "C" key
- Or: click on "Copy" in the Edit menu
Move To A New Window (Explorer)
- Minimize the current Explorer Window
- Click on the Explorer icon to open a second window
- Click inside the Address box
Paste
- Hold down the Control key
- Press the "V" key
- Or click on "Paste" in the Edit menu
- The CMA website address will appear
- Press Enter to activate the address
Cut
- Similar to Copy, but the text is removed from the original location in the document

- Demonstrate during the Word-processing topic
- Exercise: enter "cma.ca" as text in a Word document
- Later paste into the address window of Internet Explorer
- Demonstrates pasting between applications
Internet Explorer
- Click on the Explorer icon on the desktop
- Enter "cma.ca" into the address window
- Press Enter to activate the address
- Later copy an address back into a Word document
